The publicly-appointed Expert Panel on Resources Management (EPRM) chaired by Professor Marc Clement, Head of the Department of Research and Innovation, brings together individuals with significant expertise and knowledge regarding sustainability, resources management and the demands facing industry within Wales.

The Panel has two primary functions:

  • to provide advice to the Welsh Assembly Government on current and future best practice for resource management, and
  • to evaluate and provide advice on current and future phases of the Business and Environment Action Plan.

In the three years since their appointment, the Panel have created a set of holistic recommendations that the Welsh Assembly Government can use to formulate policy in this area.  This work has culminated in the publication of their recommendations document

Low Carbon Wales: To improve resource efficiency in Wales

The document was formally presented to Andrew Davies AM, Minister for Enterprise, Innovation and Networks on the 27th March 2007.

The document contains EPRM’s ten-year vision on how to enable Wales to aspire to a position of leadership in terms of best practice regarding resources management

The Panel’s vision is underpinned by five strategic solutions which need to be influenced in order to provide businesses and organisations with the incentives, drive and infrastructure to adopt resource efficiency.
