In broad terms the Department provides support in the following key areas:

• To provide a single focal point for knowledge transfer activity both for internal Schools and external organisations.
• To support staff in the identification of research and consultancy funding, advice related to the completion of grant applications (e.g. overheads, project management) contract negotiations and intellectual property.
• To support University staff in managing and actively promoting their research and consultancy projects.
• To develop close working relationships with external sponsors including partners emanating from industry, the European Union, and the UK public sector.
