Sian Impey

Sian relocated to Swansea in 2006, to give her children the chance to grow up by the sea! Initially employed in temporary positions in the University’s Residential Services and Department of Childhood Studies, Sian moved to the International Office in 2007, most recently taking up the post of Internationalisation Development Manager. Prior to relocating to Swansea, Sian spent 8 years working for the University of Southampton, first as an International Officer specialising in East Asia, and then developing the wider internationalisation agenda by managing Southampton’s role in the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) international consortium. Sian loves to travel and has spent extended periods living and working in Japan and Germany.

Originally from Aberystwyth, Elinor holds a BA (Hons) in French and Welsh from University of Wales, Cardiff and an MSc in Tourism and Marketing from University of Surrey. Prior to joining the International Office team at Swansea University in August 2008, Elinor worked as an International Officer at Bangor University for 4 years.

Nick was born and raised in Birmingham in the West Midlands. He studied for his degree in History at Swansea University where he also obtained a Post Graduate Diploma and continued at Swansea University as the Student Union president for two years. Subsequently he worked in the Wales Assembly Government for four years before returning to Swansea University to take up the position of International officer. Nick is the main contact person for: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Nigeria, USA and Norway.

Jennifer Ferguson

Jennifer recently joined the International Office after moving to Wales from Canada. Her interest in international work began with an internship at the Vietnam National University in Hanoi. From there, Jennifer went on to work in Vancouver, as a Project Manager of an urban agriculture programme based in Sri Lanka and Thailand. Prior to starting at Swansea University, Jennifer worked at a university in eastern Canada.  She now calls Tenby in West Wales "home." When not traveling abroad with work, she enjoys spending time discovering the UK! She is the main contact person for: Canada, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

After a 17 year career with Lloyds TSB Bank as team leader of their Not-Ordinarily resident team, Jan decided to change careers and move into the interesting and varied field of International Marketing and Recruitment. 3 years ago Jan was successful in obtaining such a role within The International Office of Swansea College and then became Office Manager of the International Office with Swansea University in June of this year.

Unhan is originally from Seoul, South Korea and came to live in the UK ten years ago. She is ideally suited to her liaison role having worked in the United States for a number of years also having worked for the US Army in South Korea. Her office responsibilities include liaison with students and agents; arrangements for inward visits; follow up and conversion activities. She is also a wonderful cook - much appreciated by the International Office team!
