2010 Entry Applicants: if you list Swansea University as one of the five choices on your UCAS application form, you are likely to be invited to a UCAS visit day when you will have the opportunity to visit the department of your choice, go on a student led campus tour, look around our Sports Village and view campus based accommodation. These are invitation only events held between November 2009–March 2010, allowing plenty of time for you to make your final decision. To get the maximum benefit and enjoyment from university life it's important to choose the right course and the right place to study. At Swansea we run three campus-wide Undergraduate Open Days a year specifically to give prospective applicants, parents/guardians, teachers and advisers as much information as possible about what the university and the local area have to offer, as a place to study and a community to be part of.

Here at Swansea we run "Go as you please, visit what you will" Open Days, so you are free to choose for yourself exactly what to see and do while you're here. You'll have a chance to find out all about our varied courses and excellent academic facilities, the vibrant social life, the many opportunities for sport and recreation, the beautiful coastal scenery of the area and the great night-life of the city.
Each academic school will be open for visits and may have arranged their own open day events. Please contact the relevant school for more information.
The Centre consists of a large information room and a number of interview, project and advisors rooms. In addition to the usual careers facilities, the Centre manages pan-Wales, Welsh Office and European Regional Development Fund projects linking the University with industry and business. Students will be able to consult reference material and browse career information on the Internet through the Centre's IT facilities.
The University Disability Office will be open from 10:00am - 4:00pm and is located on the ground floor of the Keir Hardie Building. Although it would be preferable to arrange an interview time beforehand, visitors are welcome to call in during their visit.
A look around of the Library and Information Centre is included in our campus tours and the building will be open all day. You are welcome to try out the computerised library catalogue. You can also see the computing facilities available to students in the three PC rooms, the PC gallery and a large section of the Reading Hall, where all students have access to email, word-processing, the Internet, and a range software packages. You may also want to explore the book stacks and reading rooms. If you have any questions, or want to know how something works, please ask at the Library Information Desk.
Taliesin Arts Centre contains the University's Museum of Egyptology, a theatre/cinema, Ceri Richards Gallery and a Waterstones Bookshop.
Taliesin is a very popular venue with those living both on and off campus. Open throughout the year, this lively venue hosts a broad programme of events including cinema screenings, an average of ten visiting exhibitions per year, and a great variety of live performances, from dance and drama to jazz and world music. The emphasis at Taliesin is on quality and innovation - providing a vital service to both students and the people of Swansea and acting as a regional centre of excellence. The venue’s café bar boasts an exciting tapas menu, plus regular specials, fresh coffee and a good range of wines, beers and spirits.
The Egypt Centre is open to visitors from 10:00am to 4:00pm Swansea's museum of Egyptian artifacts is the sixth largest in the country, with over 1000 objects dating from earlier than 3500 BC to AD 500 displayed in two galleries. The collection includes articles as varied as a coffin belonging to a musician from Thebes, statues of gods and goddesses, bead necklaces from the time of Tutankhamun, and a large number of everyday objects such a pottery, weapons and tools.
A wide variety of hot and cold meals, salad bar, a range of sandwiches and baguettes, pasta and vegetarian dishes, curry and chef's choice for a more traditional meal. Tea, Coffee, Soft Drinks, Snacks and Light Bites available all day.

There is a Post Office in Fulton House which is open Monday to Friday from 9.00am until 4.00pm. There are Public Telephones in almost all of the larger buildings. A branch of Lloyds TSB plus a cash-dispensing machine is situated in the foyer of Taliesin and there are cash dispensing machines in the foyer of Fulton House plus a Natwest cash-point in the Union Building.
